I would highly recommend a visit to an open air cinema, If you ever find yourself in Athens during the summer. It’s an experience that will stay with you in the winter months. Summer cinemas open around June and close down in September.
The Theseio summer cinema is definitely one of the better ones to visit. Situated on the pedestrian road near the Acropolis it will give you the perfect ending for your night walk around the old town. The film changes every one or two days and it varies between old classic films and recently released blockbusters. The other night, whilst the August full moon was out, we watched Gilda. When the interval was on I wished the night would last. I know we will be thinking about it during the grey early London nights.
